I've served the needs of children and families in the Charlottesville area for over 25 years. After earning a B.A. in English and an M.A. in Education from the College of William and Mary, I worked as a classroom teacher and school administrator for 15 years in public and private schools. I founded The Front Porch School of Music in 2015 and continue to champion the transformative power of the arts in building community and fostering personal growth. In 2023-24, I earned a Master's in Clinical Social Work from VCU and an Executive Coach certification from Brown University. I'm also a registered yoga teacher and a certified mindfulness practitioner for children and adults. My social work experience includes Albemarle County's Child Protective Services and Region Ten's Child and Family Outpatient Therapy Clinic. I currently serve as a Clinical Therapist at Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville and in private practice. I’m also the proud mom of two amazing daughters, and I moonlight as a professional musician in several local bands.

“Any organization that engages Emily's services will come out stronger, smarter, and more effective at fulfilling their mission.”
